Get ExperienceIf you are looking to gain experience, you have probably already explored careers through reading and talking with professionals in your fields of interest. If you haven't and need to narrow your interests, take a look at Identify Your Skills and Interests. If you have identified one or several paths to pursue, now what? Gaining leadership and career-related experience while you are in college will provide more information to help you decide if your intended career path is right for you. It will also give you relevant experience to include on your resume and build your network of professional contacts. You may choose to gain this experience by taking on a campus leadership position, volunteering in the community, conducting research with a professor, or participating in an internship. The Professional Distinctions Program enables students to enhance their undergraduate experience with a set of skills and knowledge that complements their majors. |
